Wildlife Catcher · effective 15 June 2026
Wildlife Catcher (“the app”, “we”) helps you identify and collect wildlife you photograph. This policy explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- Account — when you sign in, your name, email address, and profile picture from your sign-in provider (Google or Apple).
- Photos you capture — the images you take to identify species.
- Approximate location — to place your catches on the map and build your local field guide. You can turn this off in your device settings.
- Gameplay data — your captures, collection, and Field Circle social activity (friends, suggestions, comments).
- Push token — if you enable notifications.
How we use it
- To identify species, your photo is sent to Google’s Gemini AI for recognition.
- To show your collection, map, and the Field Circle features you choose to use.
- To send notifications you opt into. We do not sell your personal data.
Sharing
Catches and species you post are visible to your Field Circle. Photos are processed by Google for AI identification. We use Supabase and Railway to store and serve data on our behalf.
Your choices & deletion
You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Delete account). This permanently removes your account, your captures, and your photos. You can also email us to request deletion.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13. Kid Mode disables accounts, social, and the map for a catch-and-collect-only experience.
